Best way to clean the oven

Ive got a very dirty oven and i want to know the best way to clean it, its got dried on and burnt on food thats been there for years and i need to know how to clean it.

Or failing that, advice from a woman. Put a bowl of water in there and leave it for a about 2 hours while the oven's at about 150c. Bit of lemon or washing up liquid in the water will make it smell nice

Should be able to swipe the gunk away after.

In Essex, the ladies clean ovens using their false "white-tipped" finger nails and eye-lashes, it's the only way you know!

Just don't do what my OH did, when he decided to take the oven door off to get to the dirt easier.

In the process snapping off the hinges holding the door on.
