Why do people buy into apple BS?

It clearly is. You feel the need to shout to the rooftops about how Apple doesn't deserve to be what it is, because you feel you have an inferior product.
Whether this is due to stupidity or feeling that apple owners enjoy their products more so are happier with them I don't know.

Don't tell me how I feel :p

I don't have an inferior product though

Yep. There's a reason for the incongruous popularity of Blackberry's among kids.

Mind you... Apple are talking of getting into that with free iPhone-iPhone messaging.

Its Idevice -> Idevice more then just Iphone -> Iphone.

Coincides with rumours of 3g being added to next gen Ipod touch's

It doesn't matter - they're still using a better OS, whether or not that was part of the buying decision :)

IN YOUR OPINION!!! Just because it is architecturally better does not make it a better OS. Jeez:rolleyes:

NO! Your wrong!
Nooo Your Wrong!
NOO YOUR WRONG!
NO YOUR BLOODY WRONG!!!

etc etc

Point is moot Linux is far superior to both I won't go into specifics as I'll probably start a distro war also.

No...I understand about the sensor size and pixels totally...In a phone that records 1080p video the dual core grunt allows smooth recording without drops in frames. When the lens is small the pixel count does play a part.

Are you sure? Do you know, for example, that the pixels on the iPhone 4's sensor are backlit making for better reading of light and thus better pictures. No matter how many megapixels if you have a crappy lens and crappy sensor then the video is going to be bad. Sure it will have the required number of pixels to be 1080p video but that is all.

Do you want a phone or a camcorder? I'd record video from my phone (Disclosure: iPhone 4) only if I was shooting unplanned video. In this respect the iPhone 4 does fine. If I cared about the quality I'd use my camcorder with it's nice big lens and high quality sensor (1080p @ 60FPS)

I don't agree..The justification of less tech for more money is what I hate not the Apple brand as such

I'm typing this on my works computer. A Dell Precision T1500 + Dell 27" Display. At the time a 27" iMac with the same RAM, CPU and a higher spec display was less money.

Not quite, all the young chav's want BB's because of the BBM, they never have to top up and can still text each other.

Yeah but that's only because all their mates have them too. They could quite as easily use Whatsapp or something similar on iOS or Android.

BB's aren't nearly as popular overseas as they are over here.

What other advatages are there then what am I as a PC user missing out on in your opinion?

Not my thread.:p

Lol sorry, whoevers thread it is then.

The biggest thing for me really is mobile me; all three devices are a exact mirror of each other. Bookmarks, system settings, emails, notes, calendar etc.

One username and pw does it all for me and I don't have to worry about it. Yes a number of other services do what I want but not in one go. It also works seamlessly whereas googles service has been having issues from what I've seen (Mobile me has also had issues but none that I can remember effecting me).

Then it comes down to silly things like enabling duplex printing (os x does it all automatically) and windows 7 needed some tinkering to enable it, and even then it disables it randomly.

It's not one big thing that makes os x better for me, but loads of little things

Simply put the amount of times I've been in W7 thinking 'fs why is this so difficult to achieve' is greater than that of os x.

I use them both on a daily basis (3D cad in windows, photo/video work in is x).

It's why the apple argument is on the whole silly because it just boils down to preference and value for money. OS X for me has more value than just the hardware specs.

The IP4 sensor's okay, but its not great, ill admit. Considering its from a 'misc' company with no real experience of making high end camera sensor's it does a bloody good job (and no matter what people say, produces images which hold up well even to the newest phones).
The new Sony sensor which should be used in the IP5 (why else would apple buy 150+ million of them?) should be a massive leap in quality.

IN YOUR OPINION!!! Just because it is architecturally better does not make it a better OS. Jeez:rolleyes:

The Amiga CD32 and the Atari Jaguar were architecturally better than the Megadrive but it creamed them. The Sega Saturn and the Nintendo 64 were architecturally better than the Playstation but it didn't help them.

Betamax was technically superior to VHS, the are probably more examples that escape me. Just because something is better does not mean people will like it more.

Out of interest, what's so good about W7? I have it running under Parallels on my Mac and as far as I can tell, it's not dissimilar to Vista with the same old bugs that have plagued Windows since Win98. The only reason I have it at all is that I like to play the odd game and you need DirectX for that.

Its not so much about what's good about W7, but its the first version of Windows that is comparable to OS X. The days of having to re-install every 3-6 months are gone, the search feature works well, drivers are practically a total non-issue now, etc. Not sure what bugs you're talking about, but I've never had W7 blue screen or totally crash since I started using it.

Although on the surface it may look similar to Vista, trust me when I say its light years head.

As an Intelligent member of then masses I say to you this...

Buy Mac for **** load 'o' Money

or

Buy PC parts which are either equivilent spec or better build for much less money, Build it and install mac OS

Which would be your preferred option?

I have both. I built a powerful PC for running VMware for my work and some gaming. I have a 27" iMac for doing everything else especially video work.

Why (as an intelligent person) is it automatically bad to spend money on an Apple computer? That logic escapes me.

Yep, which is why sometimes it's ok to pay over the odds for hardware even though it's technologically inferior.

Or does that argument only work when you say so?

Nearly 600 hundred posts later. Mine is better than yours, his is better than mine, mine is better than all of them and so it goes on……..oh yes it is, oh no it isn’t….. Wait it’s now the architecture. :p

The products are smarter than the people. One thing is certain. Whatever you have it’s already out of date. :D

Not trying to diminish your point if you like it thats fair play but...

In bold is one of my greatest annoyances when it comes to anything where you need a code or password my real issue being that if one password is discovered then eveything you've signed up for is vunerable and your ****ed.

Please people don't just use one password IMHO it's just damn foolish!

Dude I agree with all of what you've said about W7 if I had the choice of running Linux on all my machines I'd do that(Sadly at work it's not an option contracts were signed before IT was informed and we're stuck with Dell Hardware *Spits* and Windows *Spits* but thats my own problem) but the OS isn't what I'm talking about, I'm really just at a loss as to why people prefer to pay apple for hardware when you can get equivilent system cheaper elsewhere and slap on the Mac OS IMO it just seems like a waste of money.

I'm not saying it's bad I'm just asking why you prefer it have you tried running mac OS on your powerful PC and compareing it to your iMac. I just don't see how paying over the odds for hardware is an advantage.

Where is this powerful PC with the same spec as the iMac and with a 27" IPS monitor that is cheaper than the iMac? :p
