UK ticket wins £161m EuroMillions Jackpot

If I won that I'd probably throw £11 million at cancer research straight off and then pledge the interest from the rest to various charities. Then get investing and making more money. Private islands aren't cheap. :D But alas I reckon I'm going to have to make my billions the hard way.

I checked mine at lunch in Tesco and I won £2.90 so with the 90p winnings I bought potato wedges of the spicy sort and they ended up being too salty.

Fml.

Why do they say money cant buy happiness?..

I'd be pretty happy with 160m and everything I've ever dreamed of.

Why would yo get everything you ever dreamed of? You'd have nothing left to dream of!

i'd just get one thing nice, nice house, car and stuff. No need to have 10 cars, a house in every country or whatever.

I like a minimalist approach to things!

I would build a vault like scrooge mcduck and swim around in the money

Bought my first ever lottery ticket today (just because I saw the sign at the till when getting lunch earlier), won £6.40 from one ticket, not a bad way to start off.

Next time, the big one!

haha I won exactly the same amount :D saving it for a couple of pints on friday hehe

Ran a syndicate of 17 people and we won exactly £3.70 between Friday and Tuesday draws. Gave everyone the opportunity of a 22p payout but going to keep rolling it for now I think lol.

Odds are low but a £2 punt can be worth it!

I see the low life have startd sending begging letters to the couple who scooped the jackpot,do these pond life have no shame, they really are pathetic human beings...

They did :D

The couple are on the run now i think i've heard.

TBH, why go public? 161million, flee to monaco and then start a new life...

Well whats left of it, bloody pensioners always winning the big jackpots, fs././

I thought it was silly of them to go public,i guess it would be hard to hide that sort of win,but these scroungers who bother winners should be put down and shot end of..

It would not be hard because previous megawinners still remain anonymous.

I think the best reason is that at some point between them checking the ticket and realising wtf they must have told someone and the announcement keeps them in control of the situation rather than someone else.

Imagining if you won, that is actually a terrifying amount of money.

I'd be constantly worried someone was going to try and kidnap relatives/blackmail/threaten to kill etc.

I'd be much better to acquire that sort of wealth through success rather than get handed it on a silver platter. I know the novelty for me would wear off so quickly and life would be boring as hell. If you'd acquired it through success you would have slowly acclimated to that lifestyle over time and still have goals etc in life to keep your sanity! :D

A million to each of my family members.
A million for myself.
A house (not a mansion).
A car (a reasonably priced one).
A holiday.

The rest I'd give to charity. Or perhaps start my own project in Africa, building houses or something.

I've thought about this a lot, and yachts and sports cars have absolutely no appeal to me whatsoever.
