Stepdad has just phoned me from Milan and unlike the iphone his ipad isn't automatically detecting a new carrier for the 3g internet over there. (Normally based in the UK.)

Is this impossible as it is not like a phone or does anyone know a way he can get a carrier? (Maybe going into the settings>mobile data>view account and creating another again?)

It is O2 he has as his sim btw.

Cheers.

Has it been activated for roaming use by o2? Some providers automatically put a bar, unless you otherwise dictate...

Also, has he checked the setting within the iPad to enable data whilst roaming?

Good point, i doubt he has done that.

I'll ring him now.

Unfortunately i doubt he'd have the capability of doing that :p.

It would save him a fortune if he did do that though, My mate is just back from Cancun. He used FB on his iPhone every day for a fortnight, (probably some internet too) he got landed with a £1200 bill.

He is only in Milan for 2 days for a business trip, and i doubt he'd be using his that much as i clocked up about £300 in dubai over two weeks myself :p.
