Will their be a D0 stepping core i7 2600k?

There already was.

D0 was an engineering sample.

Current 2600K's are D2 or, as CPU-Z reports, Revision D2, Stepping 7.

So is there likely to be any new killer steppings/revisions coming out of SB any time soon? Much like the C2D/C2Q E0's?

I think what he means is if there would be another revision like the D0 was to the C0, the E0 was to the C1 or the G0 was to then B3 etc... :D

I don't know the answer to that but its possible.

I know what he meant.

My answer was slightly tongue in cheek as no one knows if there will be a new stepping let alone a new "killer stepping".

When virtually every 2500K and 2600K will overclock to between 4.5 and 5GHz that would have to be some serious revision to be classed as a "killer stepping".

Probably 5Ghz as a norm at around 1.35v would be classed as such. I think 4.5Ghz around that vcore is pretty much the avg from what i'm seeing (25 2600ks so far :) )

That would be slighly better than the voltage for 5GHz now.

If it happened I would classify it as more of a tweak than a "killer stepping".
