Hi there,

What would you get , samsung galaxy s2, iphone 5 when available, or whatever HTC is thinking of ??

Also where does the sony experian feature in this?

Your thoughts would be appreciated

thanks

I guess its always down to personal preference, Ild go with the GS2 (as i have one and had a GS1). But then others would go for a Iphone as their used to it.

Couple of my colleagues have switched to the GS2 and been happy with it though.

Unless you've got hold of the iPhone 5 specs it's kind of hard to compare. If I was choosing a new phone today I would be looking at either the GS2 or Sensation.

iphone 5 or 4S, will be most likely a improvement on iphone4, i.e better camera, processor from ipad2 (dual core) and most likely increase in storage to 64Gb. I don't see it being a radical change in anyway. The big overall improvements will come from ios5

If the iPhone 5 is specced how I want it to be specced (I can make a fairly educated guess), then I'll probably get that.

And everything else :o

To be honest i don't believe the iPhone5 will be that big a leap and in terms of hardware there won't be a lot in it between the iP5 and the SGS2. I'm very happy with my SGS2 and would like to upgrade if Samsung makes a 720p 3D Screen and a faster CPU. But that's all

I really don't like apple products to be honest, and there pricing is crazy.

But as others have said it's hard to compare a non existant phone spec against something that has already been out for a couple months.

You might as well compare the next iphone against the GS2's replacement (read on the forum that there is a replacement lined up for before christmas, no proof though)...... I'd get that over the iphone.

there are specs flying around I dont know how much of its true though..

They say the IPHONE 5 (4gs) will be similar to the IPAD2, it will have a dual core processor, slightly larger screen, and more accessories (so more cash of apple)

I just wondered however whether the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be blown out the water in 2-3 months and replaced by a better, faster, HTC or the new version of the IPHONE...

I have never liked any of the IPHONES despite owning 1 for a couple of months.

I much rather prefer ANDROID phones as you can install custom ROMS and with the huge benefit of ANDROID being open source..

I currently have a HTC HD2 and have changed ROMS several times and I really like option as sometimes it can change the look, feel of your phone making it feel new due to the added features, options etc..

So I wonder if its worth upgrading now to the S2 or waiting for HTC to launch something, I am not sure whether they have anything in the pipeline though...

Just got the GS2, love it. Does everything you can wish for, really cant see the iphone5 being any better. Oh and i personally had enough of Apple and the restrictions and constant use of itunes..

IMO there's nothing on the horizon that will better the SGS2.

The SGS2 pretty much leaves you wanting for nothing and is the most complete smartphone available.

They are a result of the networks being greedy and not Apple themselves though. Apple's direct price is perfectly fair.

I thought Apple dictated the network prices but apparently they don't.

Yeah, it's crazy how the iPhone is priced more or less the same as all other top end phones. Utter madness.

Well considering my girlfriend was thinking about getting the iphone 4 that is a year old now for £99 on an 18 month contract for £35 a month, and ended up getting a GS2 for £30 on an 18 month contract for £30 a month with better text and minutes.

Yeah i'd say it's utter madness.....to be fair though i didn't look into the iphone deals so there may be better out there. That was from the o2 shop who had a special offer on that they were matching what the 3 network were doing (apparently).

Plus i don't think it can be argued that the GS2 spec is quite a bit better than the iphone 4.
