My Eye's are Getting Worse

I go to Vision Express but i'd hardly recommend them - after my next eye test my glasses will probably come from the Internet, memory titanium frames with 1.56 photochromic lenses, anti-reflection, uv and scratch resistant coatings for £90? Yes please.

Makes you wonder just how much these high street opticians are ripping you off...

Been going to Specsavers for years with no problems at all. Both for contacts and glasses. Very helpful and good at explaining what they do and why.

Boots have a £5 eye test voucher on their site (valid till end of July), used it myself today :)

Personally I would avoid the likes of Specsavers as I am told their optitions are on commission from the glasses they sell.

I've never been to a chain opticians as I don't know, I'm not sure I'd trust them - I'd assume they're going to try flog me glasses every time I go (I have 20:20 vision - in fact better than that I was told last time I went). My sister goes to Specsavers, has been for 4 eye tests and has had 4 different prescriptions (sometimes her eyes have got better!) requiring different glasses every time. She gets her contact lenses through the post and they have never yet got the prescription right, every time she has to go back and explain veeerrrrryyy slooooooowly that the ones they've sent were her old prescription - they haven't got it yet!

I go to a family-run opticians who have one practice, take their time with me, use all the same fancy shmansy equipment as the other places and I really trust them.

Specsavers.

Because your worth....oh wait.

Linky?

Use Vision Express, they are more expensive than say Specsavers but offer a better service imo,and a better range of glasses.

I wont use Specsavers again as they gave me a eye test that was incorrect.

Same for me too. Switched to them from Vision Express as I got fed up of having to complete my details on each visit (do they not have a database?) and generally their service was rubbish.

However you can't really judge it by people's opinions completely because we will all have attended a different branch and experienced different service from different people.

getting your eyes tested will be the same anywhere won't it? They are all fully qualified and university trained.

As to where to buy them, once you have your prescription, go to http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk.. loads cheaper. They will send you "samples" to try too.a

Time before last I needed new glasses D&A screwed up one of the measurements and when the new glasses came they were unwearable (headaches within 30mins). I think it was the distance from the eye to the glasses lens which was very out when they checked again.

I've looked at those online glasses places before ... most of them don't seem to go up to my prescription ...
