Heres the problem:
Downstairs i have a Virgin Media D-link router, which connects to the web via cable, then connects to the office PC via ethernet and the NAS via ethernet. There are numerious WI-FI devices hooked up to the router usally: 1x laptop 1x PC(in my room) 3x phones 1x Ipad 1x Xbox. Now if i go onto one of the laptops connected to the same network as my computer upstairs and go to >>windows>>network and sharing centre>>view computers and devices on the network. It comes up with the NAS and all other machines on the network which is what i want to happen. But if I do the same thing on my PC still on the same wireless network, the only devices i can see are the media devices of the NAS and the PC im looking for the NAS on. I also get a Network infrastructure that says manufacturer is netgear and model number etc..
So on the same network one pc can see the nas and the other cant?
it is a cheap NAS box with a 80gb drive in, but surley if one pc can see it and connect fine then its working ok? Also it just suddenly changed one day and said I cound'nt connect to it, I didnt change any settings or anything.
any suggestions on how to get my pc linked up to the nas would be very helpful! I have even considered reseting the router and NAS box
Thanks
Freddie
