I was just reading something on the MSN news website nothing special and I came over with this horrible sinking feeling.

I am 26, 27 in October meant to be in my prime years and making the most of it but I can't help but feel I am completely wasting it and throwing it all away, should be grabbing it whilst I can.

Would you say you do or did make the most of the chances you had?

I have been saying for so long I want to travel a little bit but have never got around to it, being to chicken to book those tickets and take the plunge on my own and this is what brought on that feeling.

If you could change anything from the past that you never did and always meant to what would it be?

I applied for a new OU course yesterday but today feel like cancelling it and booking flights for January and taking the course beginning of next year instead.

Cancel it and travel, seriously, best thing you'll do.

I can speak from experience, there is nothing worse than looking back and regretting NOT doing things!

I had the chance to move to California back when I was 22 for a job I did back then, they set up a home, car the lot for me to move, I turned it down due to family reasons......

WORSE DECISION I EVER MADE.......

I would have been made for life If i'd of gone.... As the guy that went instead i hear he earns around $230,000 a Year now ok he studid hard for 5 years while there, but beats whats im earning, plus he fell in love with the girl next door she was 22 also, Seen the photo's of her she's like a model or somthing.

Just grab life and take every opportunity thrown at ya.

Get online now and book them tickets

Dwelling on stuff is for pussies, you will only look back even later in life thinking what did I spend that time thinking what if...

Unless you have a terminal illness or are very old then do something about it :)

Cancel it and book the tickets.
Even if you decide you don't like it or it's not for you, at least you can look back on it and say you've done it.

If you were to travel where would you want to go?

He a pornstar?

I know what you're saying op. I finished uni a year ago and I'm still in the same dead end job telling myself i'll find something soon. How's about we both do something about it. First thing I better do: start a thread asking gd to spec me a new job :p

I tend to find that how satisfied you are with life directly correlates with how much sex you are having.

But doing stuff helps :p

:D

I have always been one to do what I want rather than what is expected and I think that is the secret.

Don't say I wish I had done that, or I wish I could do this. Just do it.

.....oh! and lots of sex helps.

I've tried to make the most of life/opportunities, but I think whatever you do, you can always find moments where you can look back and wonder what could be different.

25, decent job, just bought a flat. I live in Cambridge (birthplace) but I was offered a job last Christmas in York, which is a place I love. However, due to a rough breakup and a bit of a depression at that time with other things I turned it down.

I sometimes wonder how I would have got on if I took the job and started fresh, but I think it was just bad timing for me. Eventually I got a higher paying job and now in a position to buy my first property, so I don't think it's too bad.

I don't feel like i've made the most of any oppotunities or taken many chances...

Biggest regrets were probably not going to college/university after leaving school... The prospect of getting money was far more exciting, now I've been stuck in a dead end job for 10 years! I'm only 26!

The second would be not taking the chance to live in Holland for 6 months, it would have meant quitting my job and it not being permanent would have meant coming back if i didn't find somewhere else there. In hindsight whichever way that worked out it would have meant i'd of had to of done something different!

It can be quite depressing when i start thinking about all the stuff i wish i'd done differntly... When i was younger there was no end to the things i thought i would have done or achieved by the time i was this age :(

I think I've done ok so far. I've traveled quite extensively, got a 1st class honors degree and had 3 jobs relating to that degree in the last 2 years.

I do however feel like i can do more, which is why I'm learning French and weighing up the idea of moving to Canada/Australia. I've not been presented with any big opportunities but I like to think I'd jump on them if they did come up.

Aye, if you can travel for a few months man do it, I wish I did, and i'm only 25...Maybe when I have some money.

My friend just books random weeks off throughout the year and goes to places on his own all the time...And he has a full-time job of 40+ hours a week at a car manufacturer :p So you know, even with a job its possible.

One thing I wish I did was go to uni, I would have gained a lot more, and probably be on more money than I am now doing something a lot more strenuous, rather than being the IT Crowd guy
