Hi there, i need a mobo able to overclock a i5 2500k and preferably for under £100, i have found the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-448-AS&tool=5 however unhappy with reviews/lack of hdmi plug. any other good mobo's for around this price that will suit my specs? im getting a 6950 to add, so that will need to fit in also, with 8gb (2x4) of ddr3, 600w psu and it will need to fit into http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-037-ZA this case, thanks very much overclockers uk! (dont NEED a ssd port but the option would be useful for when they come more affordable) thanks.

my only question to the "Asrock Z68 Pro3" board is the price (£30 more) make it worth it?
and im forgetting that the hdmi port comes from the graphics card, not the motherboard :P

this is my first custom build pc so any critical advice is constructive, thanks for your time and replies :)

It depends if the extra z68 offers options which you may use in the future, also some Z68 boards can utilise the onboard gpu which is built in to the CPU.

If you're on a budget then a P67 board is perfect.

What about this Z68 board on offer this week:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-346-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

TBH, you need to research the difference between the chipsets and decide which matches your requirements better (Theres not a huge difference).

The Z68 board that is at the bottom of the scale. No thanks. The Pro3 is definitely the way to go for a Z68 board if you are not planning on going SLI/Crossfire. Otherwise, I would go for this board:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-458-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

And yes, there is a difference between them all. A big one.

Was just suggesting it as its the only Z68 board under £100. Up to the OP whether he wants to pay the £25 extra for the Pro3.

thanks a lot guys, i kept with the p67 but i compared it to the z68 but i cant seem to find any differences other than minor things that will barely affect system speeds/efficiency, but thanks for your time, i ended up getting the 6950 that was on sale for £200, the i5 2500k, 8gb ddr3 corsair, 600w psu and a 2tb samsung spinpoint hdd all fitting in a lovely zalman z9 case, all together costing just under £700. Great deal i think :D Hopefully you wont see me on monday afternoon on here saying my psu blew up or something. tehe

I thought lucidlogix virtu on the Z68 platform would allow, for example; the IGP on the i5k to be used for simple things like 2D stuff, desktop (leaving the GFX card in idle) then power up the GFX card for more demanding tasks like gaming or 3D?

Am I looking that this all wrong?
