.... a new partner for the ST220 arrived today.

Firstly and foremostly for the missus as she's halfway through her driving lessons and her instructor feels she really just needs to get out there and drive as often as possible to improve her confidence and general road sense.

And secondly as a runabout, she's started working a few more days than before and the short journeys are going to start taking their toll on the ST, not to mention the MPG - so something small and more frugal was required.

So here she is after a little scrub up this afternoon:

She's showing her age a little (as essentially an 11-year old Corsa will!) but drives absolutely fine, much better than I expected anyway. 5 months tax and a little bit of MOT left.

Cost, £0.00p

Can't argue with that really :)

1.6

1.6 'Chequers' apparently when I ran the insurance quote.

I just can't be bothered to go look up what the 'Chequers' gave as extra or left off over the other ones :)

Friend of mine had one of those once. She hated parallel parking, so I once parked it for her, but I had to hang out the door to do it as I didn't fit.

How was it free? :-O

Mate at work is just about to sign the dotted line on a new car, they were offering him £500 part-ex for the Tigra.

Rather than see it go to the big scrapyard in the sky, he reckoned it had been that solid, reliability-wise, for him in the last 18 months he's had it he'd prefer it to go somewhere where it would be put to good use.

No.

Mincing arse-slaps required :D

It was a slightly tongue-in-cheek (nothing to to with arses!) comment regarding some comments made in another thread about good deals but you have taken it to another level. :o:o:o

Very nice of your friend to donate the car, I dread to think how you repaid the favour! :D

:D

My mate has taken some fearful ribbing for owning the Tigra over the last year and a half so referring to it in those terms is par for the course :D

And as for payment in kind, well I offered to pay for a new set of hair-straighteners and curling irons, either that or a case of beer or a bottle or two of his favourite tipple.

He's adamant he doesn't want a single penny or anything in lieu for it though :)
