If these forums charged, how much would you pay?

Why do we have to monetise everything anyhow?

Are we so obsessed by money that this is the yardstick by which we measure everything?

Actually I find I measure everything in 'pints of beer I could buy instead of buying the thing in question'.

And wierdly I'm not joking. Was thinking about seeing 'Harry potter and the Herpes of fire' or whatever it's called for £8, and decided I'd rather have 2.5 pints with my mates!!!! I've started to measure everything against its 'more or less value to me then x pints with my mates' currency :/

Adult section:confused:

Where the hell is that?

Jokester already linked to the sub-forum.

I'd probably pay £10, maybe £20 if that was what the forums cost per year and while I don't much want to pay the actual cost wouldn't bother me too much - if measuring it against comparable sources of entertainment it's still a bargain. The only better deal for me is the £0.60 or so that goes towards the Royal Family and Prince Philip in particular although it must be said he does appear to have been winding down in recent years.

It's all academic though as it's exceedingly unlikely to ever become a forum that charges.

i'd pay nothing just like i do on the competitor forums lets face it whilst ocuk might claim they are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts any decent online busisness worth it salt cant afford not to have a forum

I wouldn't.

The second such a thing would happen here, the community would change. It works because it is accessible and free.

Payment would only see splinter communities form as has done in the past, except they may this time be more popular.
