Wtf has happened to music

I think every decade has its crap music.

To claim the late 00's early 10's is worse than any other decade is a bit silly. There was a lot of crap in the 80's and 70's as well.

May've been mentioned before but I have a quick point to add:

I hate all the sexual references in new songs... my kids are getting to the point where they recognise songs that they hear on the radio now and hearing my five-year-old singing Bruno Mars and saying he's gonna 'meet a really nice girl, have some really nice sex' is nothing short of ******* disturbing!!!!

Something along these lines was going to be my contribution to the thread. The two songs you mentioned are actually at the lower end of the spectrum, some lyrics out there are pure filth. I don't care what people do in their private time but I don't want to hear about it on the radio.

Chart music is great for nights out and clubbing.

Please no :(

Going out clubbing at a decent night with decent metal/dubstep/trance/drum n bass, is a million times better than socialising with the dregs of society who think chart music is worth anything more than using as coasters. :(

Thread would not be complete without a little clowncore

What the bloody hell....

That's just odd :)

Anyway...

And as for the person who said about disturbing lyrics...

:D:D:D:D:D

(mods, if you reckon that is inappropriate, feel free to remove, however I doubt it as there are no swearies, and content like this is all over the OcUK GD, check the post a picture thread for starters ;))

Akira the Don hasn't been in the top 40 akaik, but Scroobius Pip has, I'm sure the nerds in GD will appreciate a song which features wireless keyboards... :p

I must say the internet has made collaboration between musicians far easier...

I love this thread about 'Wtf has happened to music' and everyone here is posting what they think is good music .... it's not.

This basically.

We have these repeat offenders in this thread posting dubstep tracks again and again, thinking that the dubstep genre is amazing.

It really isn't.

I think the people posting videos (includIng myself) are only trying to help.

While dubstep isn't everyone's cup of tea, there Are is at least some experimental and original elements to the genre if a less so now...

Stuff like koreless and mount Kimble could be considered dubstep and it couldn't sound more different so the noise that you sometimes call a tune stuff like flux pavilion...

Sorry guys, but as the saying goes, each to their own. I appreciate you don't like dubstep, and as that's the case, my advice is: don't click my links. I however do like dubstep, and advise anyone else in my position to click the links.

Wouldn't the world be boring if we were all the same? I for one am astounded and overjoyed at the wide variety of music available in the world today... It really is amazing :)

For example, I might be working with this guy on a new track. He is very impressive, the freestyle he comes out with is just amazing :)

Saw people talking about BMTH and dubstep earlier in the thread. So here's Suicide's D&B remix of Rawwr by BMTH.

Also, here's Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence and Big Chocolate (dubstep) as Commissioner doing some dubcore? Metalstep? Who cares. I love it.

A bit of this will do!
