Sat waiting to turn left in a car park and the moron in front decided to reverse straight into. nice dent in the wing so it'll need replacing. not going through the insurance as they'll write the car off.

absolutely gutted.

Firstly I've got a feeling he is going to claim I drove into him, he was on his own, I had my girlfriend in the car.

secondly as I would be making a claim am I right in thinking I wont accrue any NCB.

Are car cams admissible evidence? I've always though about buying a car cam and using one to potentially document any incidents.

But if I did record someone reversing into me, would the police/insurers even consider it as evidence?

Yes and thats why i now use a black box app on my android to record everything i do. I have the car mount all set up so it takes 20 seconds to dock the phone. I got shafted once for a 50/50 when someone drove into me. Never again

Sorry to hear that stoke1863 :(

I have a Flip HD Ultra which I might grab a mount for and use when I'm commuting in that case.

I'm surprised a scrren mounted camera doesn't come as standard on newer cars yet to eliminate problems like this, especially with it getting more and more commonplace, would also aid collision detectives in their enquiries etc, wouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred quid to implement into a car and cost could easily be passed on to the customer. Would save a lot of people hassle and make convictions easier.

Prepare to be claimed against. More than likely say you went into the back of him so lets hope you have witnesses or their is CCTV where the accident occurred

As others have said I would call the owner of the car park and request CCTV ASAP. You'll likely go 50/50 or be claimed against if you don't have any evidence (CCTV, third party witness etc.)
