thing is neil you dont know much about the server side do you ?

its common for people to blame other things instead of looking at the obvious.

the server before was fine a lot of the time but yes just before it was changed to the one it is on now there was a short period of lag.

if the server has problems "everyone " will get lag not just you neil ;) thats the difference :)

if others arnt then it is you.

the server since change over has been floorless

if there is a sudden lagspike that can be someone logging on the box its only a split second thing and will go away after .

also helps if you have a great connection which i would say is the number one people who moan about lag and is often them .

i cant wait till bf3 cause people will be crying with 64 people online :p

also important thing if ea connection ever drops like it does every now and again wait one minute and server auto reboots and just join again

A good connection certainly helps, im stuck on bt option 3 at the minute, upto 8mb, rarely exceeds 5mb, then factor in bt capping that even more at peak time. Hopefully by the time bf3 is released, bt fibre optic will be available to me. My nephew is on fibre and he lives 6 miles from me, played a few games at his and the difference is unbelievable.

adsl does indeed suck for gaming compared to cable latency is upto half .

see what happens when bt finish the lines in next couple of years

You can just use the cmd in windows to ping servers, no need to use an application.

A lot easier using the app you can pin it to the taskbar and check your ping at anytime.

No probs here using ADSL - 7.688meg-down/604kb-up , my bud has Virgin 20meg, my ping in games is as good as his. :)

Hi m8, try replacing your BT Main Socket with the - The XTE-2005 professional quality master socket filter / BT Broadband Accelerator if you have not already. Both will improve your line connection, l,v been using the XTE.

I,m waiting for Sky to upgrade theres but it depends how quick BT are. Setter change over to Sky Unlimited, l got a far better connection speed and always found there Customer Service very good.

Tbf, the connection isnt too bad, but you know how it is, when youve tried something much faster, you want more off it. Will look into the XTE-2005 master socket.:)

Try pinging bbc.co.uk with my ping tool, don't forget when you ping these exchanges they are very busy so your ping is higher, far busier than the OCUK Server, when l ping bbc.co.uk my ping is 31ms.

Yay it's the ping test game again!

You can pin cmd to the taskbar too

Your ping may well be the same as his, as it is based mainly on your distance to the server I believe.
