Have I made a right choice buying a 460?

Last night, the 460 was on offer with Ocuk for £99 and I jumped on the gfxwagon and bought it for my first time build, I was a little drunk and someone said I'd regret it if I didn't buy it.
I was going to buy a 5830 or a 5770, but Have I made the right choice
Can I play all the games at 1920x1080/1680x1050 with the highest of quality
Will it last, and can it overclock, and is ocuk actually a brand? If not, what will it be branded as?

If its the same one in the picture then its an MSI one. Should overclock nicely using msi afterburner. Out of the other two you mentioned you made the right choice.
 
No - you didn't make the right choice - buy another one :p

But seriously, the 460 is on par, if not better than the 5830 and is much better than a 5770.

The brand is also good with UK RMA
 
You made totally the wrong choice and should sell it to me for £50 so I can go SLI. :p The 460 is a good card, particularly at that price. But all games at that resolution on the highest settings? Not going to happen unless you enjoy low framerates.
 
On the subject of 460's did anyone else see the Msi Cyclone 460 1Gb cards in the clearance section earlier, 10+ in stock and then a short while later they were all gone, not even a trace, was a great price too.:eek:

So the bottleneck thing will be highly unlikely.
Oh also, because of my Matx motherboard, Will this card take up 2 slots, so can someone click the link and check if it will cover up another pci port :/

The 460's overclock extremely well so you should be able to get gtx560 (non ti) preformance out of it considering they are almost identical just the 560 is clocked higher.

Also, I have a 5850 1gb which is similar to the gtx460 and i'm very happy with it's preformance with at 1920x1080 with a phenom x4 at 3.2ghz.

What game were you testing it on by the way? Cause your Phenom II X4 955BE at 3.8GHz could still bottleneck the GTX460, not on games that are well-optimised for Quad like BFBC2, but game uses no more than two cores i.e. Crysis (Warhead), WOW etc.

It takes two PSI slots. The PCIE x1 will be covered.

If you're worried about it not being able to handle your games, drink a few cans of beer, buy one of THESE and sell your 460 (to me :p) or return it under DSR.
