Are you Homophobic?

No problem with the fact that people are gay, no problem with gay people.

I will say that I don't particularly like the idea of physical side of it, in terms of gay men at least, in fact it makes me pretty uncomfortable, however that is one of those things I consider hard coded into my brain so I try to not let it bother me.

Im a Christian, therefore I get labelled as homophobic.

Whilst I view homosexuality as a sin I will never look down or judge an individual who is gay, separate the person from the action, we all sin. We have been given free will, who am I to dictate to other what life style choices they should make.

See, I'm quite happy for a section of society to have an opinion that homosexuality is a sin, but what I don't like is that section of society having any impact or control over my life, which it unfortunately does.

For something to be socially acceptable it doesn't require 50% of the population to be that way. Less than 50% of the global population are female, is being female not socially acceptable? What about left handedness - that's only about 10%! Social acceptance is very much about fair and equal treatment and an almost indifference to difference.

Oi us lefties have got it hard you know

What control do they have over your life?

It doesn't bother me and I have nothing against gay men but i do feel it's sort of wrong mindset and unnatural.
I can understand woman, because woman are the sexier race.

Now gingerphobia - at least that has a rational basis.

But the ancient Egyptians would also, it is said, ritually bury redheaded men alive. The ancient Greeks would consider that their characters were unbalanced, with their humours in the wrong proportions.
Sensible

To be fair C of E is turning rather sympathetic towards the issue of homosexuality. House of Lord is a huge kettle of fish, I dont think they should be there representing the church, Lord should earn their position through merit of their actions and wisdom, not through religious of familial affiliation.

On a day to day basis do Christians impede or interfere with your life?

hahahaha.

The Lords Spiritual account for around 3% of the House of Lords which is somewhat less than the proportion of the Population which they represent. The secular part of society is represented amply by the Lords Temporal.

Maybe we should also ban Homosexual lobbyists and reformers from the HofL as well or anyone who represents another group that we do not feel represents us as individuals.

Hey, I'm white, black people do not represent me so they should not be members of the House of Lords....

The House of Lords (and Commons for that matter) is intended to be representative of the population as a whole, that includes people of faith as well as not, it includes hetero and homosexuals, it includes White, Black, Asian whatever colour creed that exists in the UK has the right to be represented that includes those of the Church, if anything members of the Church of England are under-represented, not over-represented given the proportion of Lords Spiritual to proportion of CofE Christians in the UK.

Are you saying that their religion means they should be denied representation in the House of Lords.......really?
