please help me make my mind about these mobos.. the crosshair is currently on offer and is almost the same price as the ud5 and the pci slots are almost the same i think? so really dont know what to get.. :(

I'd take a Crosshair IV over any 990FX board right now. The UD5 and UD7 have a lot of issues that Gigabyte need to address before I'd ever consider recommending them especially to anyone intending to overclock.
A lot of the 990FX boards seem to have some issues with current gen chips, too, so I'd personally recommend an 890FX board instead. The Crosshair IV is IMO the very best AMD board you can get right now.

I will say Sabertooth seems to have no issues unlike Crosshair V (see the HardOCP thread over at their forums)or Gigabyte boards so Saber gets my vote.

well i've got a Crosshair V and i've not had 1 single issue with it. ether they have no idea how to use it or its one of they hardware that doesn't like the board

aviod gigabyte so buy asus sabertooth or crosshair v that really cool as im using crosshair v that run prefect without problems... i would say u better go for either sabertooth or crosshair rather than gigabyte

They have 2 Asus reps trying to sort issues with Crosshair V ,one Asus rep did post this about of the issues.

The MS Wireless receiver is a known problem, however, I sent a revision 3 unit out to HQ and they've managed to replicate and find a fix for the pointer drift. We should have a system-wide update ready for this shortly.

The two keyboard/mouse report during BOOT is something to do with UEFI - it's just a report error and unrelated to the issue above (I will get that back to HQ anyway).

I will check up on the fan report and the Intel LAN drivers.

That leaves the AGESA optimization for the upcoming architectures which means the older processors are going to need some manual tuning - we can't do much about that as it currrently stands unless AMD opens up more of the microcode for manipulation.

The ROG forum registration info requirements should be the same as any other forum AFAIK.

Beta BIOS 009 fixes a few memory timing issues so might be worth checking that out - I will link the BIOSes in the ASUS official AMD support thread on this forum.

Thread on all issues below.

I will say AVOID Gigabyte 990FXA UD7 at all costs,

From start to finish my time with the 990FXA-UD7 was miserable. I just wanted the experience to end but with all the problems, working with the board took far longer than it should have. It is without a doubt one of the worst motherboards I’ve ever worked with. I had more problems with this board during my review than any other before it and I’ve been doing this for some time now. I’ve certainly not seen any boards this bad in the last two years. Ordinarily I’d say that Gigabyte has some work to do and that the problems with the 990FXA-UD7 can be worked out but that would be a serious understatement. I’d recommend sending it back to the drawing board. It’s just that bad.

Not all are add-on issues ie ram issues(which worked fine on a Gigabyte board he tried ),plus he has Intel LAN issues ,regardless its not as bad as the Gigabyte UD7 which is the worst review I've seen.

Btw nice Sabertooth review(bit old) here for anybody interested,http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1639/1/ ,and here http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...-sabertooth-990fx-am3-motherboard-review.html .
i guess the issues his having doesn't affect everybody with this board

on this board i need less voltage for 1600mhz ram speed....

also this board needs far less voltage (1.39375v) for 4ghz... my gigabyte board needed 1.425v for 4ghz
