In an ideal world that would happen. I just try and auto attack the tank and save my abilities for when a squishy get in sight.
thats pretty much it really.
a good player knows how to prioritise targets. attacking the tank when he is the only safe target to hit is not a problem, and this is often the case for ranged AD carries. the problem is not switching targets when the tank pulls back to reveal the high threats.
AP carries should really save their spells at all costs until that opening appears, unless they have a poke type spell. they really should not target the tank unless is a sure kill.
tanks obviously are looking to initiate and catch as many carries out as possible, then revert to a bruiser/support role depending on situation. bruisers/assassins should be looking to follow up initiation and wipe out/keep pressure on enemy carries.
the support should be close to your own carries and ready to cc/stall anyone that tries to get to them. have huge respect for good support players, their efforts often go unnoticed but are so important.
