Are you Homophobic?

ok the genes are selfish, the actual organism its self isn't.

Unless the animal is particularly intelligent or self aware, there isn't really much of a choice to be made.

Here's a great selfish gene example - there is a species of mosquito that has (effectively) an X and Y chromosome. The Y chromosome obviously doesn't get passed on into females, so to counter this, it has evolved to destroy the X chromosome out during reproduction, forcing the offspring to be ALL male.

At present, the entire species is predicted to be extinct due to a lack of females. Thanks for that, Y chromosome! :p

And you would be right. In fact some on this forum of ours have accused me of being a homophobe.

If you get involved in any SC debate you'll be called whatever/whoever you're not rabidly call to be burnt at the stake

according to people on here I'm anti-Semitic and a Jew and also a Muslim and an islamaphobe.

I think you would have to aware about, then do the opposite on purpose for even a intelligent person to go against the genes. But this could prove my gay sibling example, since there closely related or even for helping a tribe.

I refer to to something I said before:

It's a very revealing line of argument because it requires that the speaker must also believe that homosexuality is so much more appealing than heterosexuality that if it isn't suppressed then there's a good chance that everyone would choose homosexuality.

I ignored you the first time - because this is a load of tosh.

Dunno if I'm homophobic, I guess I am? Tbh I don't really care for the term homophobic or the manner in which society seems intent on labelling people. I find it laughable many people are afraid to speak their mind for fear of being called 'homophobe' or some other meaningless label.

I cringe when people say 'I'm hetrosexual/straight but...' like they are trying to make things clear they are not gay as if it's a disease but then go on to a hypocritical tirade while trying to mask their homophobic tendancies. I also laugh when gay people refer to hetrosexuals as 'straight' but then get upset when you refer to them as 'bent'. Like I said labels are perhaps not a good thing ;).

Personally, I find sex between one man and another man repulsive. Just the thought of it turns my stomach and in my view is just as morally wrong/unatural as having sex with an animal from a different species. Even men kissing is repugnant to me. Much the same as my feelings will be repugnant to others. Sadly, we cannot help the way we feel and that works both ways, its how we act on these feelings that makes us socially acceptable and the people we are.

I do not get angered by the idea of homosexuality and would certainly never assualt, abuse or discrimate against someone simply because of their sexual preference. Indeed, I have had many interesting debate with homosexual friends (yes you can be friends with people whose sexual preference you do not hold dear to your own!). The age old 'but if it were two women' often gets asked. My answer to this is simply 'of course I find this attractive, I'm a man and having two sexually attractive women arroused taps into a mans natural instict to spread his seed with as many females as possible. The chance to impregante two women at once is obviously an attractive proposition to my 'natural' instincts, the fact they wouldn't be interested in me does not compute with my neanderthal insticts.

Sexual preference is ones own business and should not be dictated by anyone, other than their own conscience. That said I don't believe homosexuality should be openly promoted. Accepted maybe, but actively promoted? Certainly not. If nothing else for the long term greater good and survival of the human race.

**PC BRigade look away now**'Mincers' however, should be shot on sight. The likes of Alan Carr and especially Louis Spence really do get my back up with the way they promote their sexual preference through innappropriate innuendos and all round camp approach.

I'm heterosexual but I am probably to extents naturally repelled by the thought of two men having a great big snog. It's not a particularly common sight so it's no surprise I'm not habituated. Not exactly hard to look away though, is it!

This really. I have close friends and family members who are gay and have nothing against them for it.

No, whatever people do in their own time and in their privacy doesn't bother me unless it's murdering or torturing people, or something similarly disturbing.

However public displays of affection, Overly enthusiatic kissing, snogging or petting/hugging etc make me feel uncomfortable but this is true for heterosexuals/gays/bisexuals.

I don't like seeing homosexual stuff in public, kissing etc, as I find it repulsive. Not that if affects some sort of moral code or something, I'm just naturally repulsed by it. But I tolerate it because I know it's the right thing to do and it's perfectly natural. People can do with their privates what they please in private. Now Alan Carr and gay pride stuff gets my back up, because it's completely unnecessary. Should I be "proud" of being straight? Well no, as that would "offend" gays, but for some reason gays can't offend straight people?

I think most people don't like it all that much but just tolerate it because they're decent people. That's a fine view to hold in my view, why should you have to like it? As long as you keep it to yourself, there's no problem.
