No insult intended... I genuinely see no other reason to do a job like that... desperation/stupidity :confused:

The love of driving?
The smell of the pizzas?
The inevitable stains on your car?

Fair enough if you own the business and need to deliver for the business... but that would fall under desperation again :confused:

The system of customers tipping to top up a low wage is ridiculous. That's an issue for the employee to take up with the employer.

I tip for service above and beyond what I would expect.

This what possibly can they add, unless you get takeaway from the same place regularly and it's the same delivery driver, and you can form a tipping relationship, where you get it fast and possibly with some extras. But how many people can say that happens.

If I feel someone has given me exemplary service or if I'm feeling in a particularly good mood then I'll tip. And since I've started working in a pub I've found myself tipping (buying drinks for) barmen/maids a lot more than I used to.

bill gates can diagree all he wants hes one of the few that give generously out of the rich.

more poor people donate than rich and they give a much higher percentage of earnings :)

its generally not well off people giving time and volunteering aswell
 
In the US they tip like 10% such generous people those Americans.

What if its a female delivering your pizza she might think you're paying her for a happy ending.
 
I always tip when I get pizza delivered to my flat - it's a massive walk up a hill, and I live on the 3rd floor, so I figure the guy's earned it.
 
If the change is a small amount I tend to tell them to keep it. Or round it up to the nearest pound. But its not really meant as a tip. Its more to avoid being bogged down by a load of loose change.
 
Not if online usually, I did the other day because I hadn't heard him at the door and supplied a typo'd mobile number, so think he was there a while before I checked by chance! Felt a bit bad so gave him a quid. Often I say keep the change if paying with cash.
 
Yeah usually, a quid isn't really much and I'm not a stingy mug either. I've never really done that sort of work before but I've got loads of mates who work at pubs/restaurants and tips make a huge difference.

Having said that I just noticed someone above mention the Americans and I think they do take the mick. I went to NY with the gf on a strict budget and we couldn't believe some places expected 20% gratuity.
