Im soooooo scared to press the buy button

I didn't see your spec thread if you discussed budget in it, but you seem to be very concerned about spending this amount of money suggesting you cant really afford it or a struggling to justify it. Do you realise that if you self-build, drop the i7 for an i5, drop the SSD (for now at least), drop the unneccessary water cooler, cheaper case, etc, etc you could probably build a rig for no more than £800 that would give a close to identical gaming performance as your current spec?

Why is it such an issue that he is spending 1.3k on a PC? As I said before, the fuss you are making about this is ridiculous. There are many more people on here who have spent far more, myself included. This is a hardware ENTHUSIASTS' site, not an ooh deary me that's a lot of money to spend, why don't you get less powerful parts website. For me, PC's are all about getting the best performance. Hence why I watercooled, have one of the highest clocked GTX 580's in the country stable, and have spent about 2 grand on my PC.

Did I need to? No.

Did I want to? Hell Yes. And that's what this site is really about. ENTHUSIASM

:D

Just buy it then wallow in a puddle of your own tears and excrement.

I spent 1.2k on my pc in my sig and that was without keyboard/mouse/monitor/ssd/hard drives/os

im still running my Duo Core 3.ghz, :D.

but making an upgrade in october to I7 for BF3.

i think the main question is what exactly are you using the rig for, is it high performance gaming or microsoft word?

If you are this worried, then don't spend 4 figures on computer hardware.

This.

When buying a car most of us will spend a lot more than that, also knowing that a new model will be just round the corner and that the car will depreciate greatly. You just have to man up and get on with it.

The great thing with hardware at the moment, is that while "something new" is just around the corner, we aren't at a time where the next piece of hardware is actually required.

I only game on my PC, and while i frequently change my GPU (motly just because I feel like it), I am still on 4 year old hardware and would see little difference with an upgrade.

It's not really to do with whether you should spend that much on a computer in the case of the OP. As others have already hinted, if you have to keep asking the question of whether you should spend that money you likely can't afford it, otherwise you would just buy it. No point getting yourself in debt over something you can't afford just to have the top product for a couple of months, which will have totally lost it's value in a few years when you could get something similarish cheaper.

has the rig been bought yet? some weird comments from some people considering this is ocuk forum..... buy the decent performance parts and have a decent rig as a result!!! Do it! Don't listen to the haters :p

and dont get the stuff if you dont have the money to buy it, I mean cold hard cash. I never understand why people get themselves into debt for entertainment.

Just feel safe knowing that a month or six down the line that expensive computer will be worth a heck of a lot less :p

And then we can say Welcome to PC ownership!
