I moved from Android to the iPhone and haven't looked back. Every time I'm tempted by one of the 4.3" screens I see on Androids, someone in work has yet another bug or glitch on their Android device and it really puts me off. I can't remember the last issue I had with my iPhone or the last time I had to reboot it, I know it's a common cliché but it just does work.
Sounds like she has her heart set on an iPhone, so no point encouraging her to use something you know she will regret. An iPhone isn't just about specs and technical stuff, but also about usability etc...
I know it has it's bad points which Android covers very well, but you just gotta sit back and think of the good points that appeal to many consumers too!
I have an Android phone myself and so do many people I know. They seem to be having no problems and neither do any of the other people who know who have iPhones.
I MUCH prefer android. but most users dont care about flash or open source so the iphone is ideal (if a little expensive). get her to try them out, then but the right one.
As long as she has her own lappy and doesn't have to install iTunes on your uber rig then get an iphone and get yourself a Galaxy S2 and constantly mock her.
Flash is great, was streaming the tennis over wifi from the BBC website eating a sarnie for example.
