Absolutely AWESOME modern Samurai film.

If you like Samurai (specifically Kurosawa) films you are going to LOVE this movie.

A spot on modern samurai film!!

Be warned of the quick cuts which could be said to be the films weakest point. At some points early into the film you are left a little unsure as to who or even where things are.

Otherwise I am definitely going to be buying this movie on blue-ray

This has solidified my decision to go and see this on wednesday (thankyou orange), looks amazing.

I went to see this at the weekend, without really knowing anything about it. It was very good, epic battle.

It is a little confusing early on as you get introduced to a lot of characters in a short time, oh and it's all in subtitles which some people might not like.

If it's still showing this weekend I'll be going to see it. Love Miike's work in general.

If I miss it in the cinema, I'll pick it up on Blu-ray regardless.

This is a very good film, though really nothing too special if you are already a fan of traditional Samurai movies. There are loads of very familiar actors in this with important or small roles. This also could lead to a surge in interest for the genre though.

And if anyone is confused about the ending, it is a Japanese folklore thing, and it also importantly represents the major problem of the Feudal caste system at the time the film is set.

My retard mate wont watch this cos hell have to read . Stupid prat wanted to watch Priest instead...

Determined to watch this even if I hobo it...

Any suggestion of other Samurai/Ninja films to watch?

ps3ud0

Oh lawd that was depressing. I felt the mystical character was unnecessary (although given the director this was never going to be completely normal), I can't remember another film with gleeful child-killing in since the original Assault on Precinct 13 (does Revenge of the Sith Count?!) and the last battle was exhausting, but it was pretty good.

What about the terrible newest Rambo film?

Loved this movie, saw it about a month ago and have to say i thought it was pretty damn good.
