If you had £8000 to spend on a car, what would it be?

LOL... you just owned yourself.

A) its not a Rover
Yes it is.
B) the entire chassis and suspension, engine, gearbox, and drive train shares nothing in common with the Rover.
So this is old-hat American technology, and the rest is a Rover.
C) They only made 1200, so its ultra rare and will become collectors soon.
1200 is hardly ultra rare. They made fewer examples of my BMW Z3 3.0i Coupe.
D) At least its British.
...and?

I believe it is you who have owned yourself good sir.

Oh dear. More ignorance strikes again.

If you are referring to the engine, its a crappy old piece of pig iron with 2 valves per cylinder. You would be correct with that... however if you are referring to my statement regarding the rest of the car, then you would be very very wrong.

And 1200 is rare.... as this covers the mk1, mk2, the saloon, and the tourer..

So for instance... Im after a mk2 saloon in Solar red... like this....

My chances? They made SIX!

Awesome, they made less than 500 of each of my cars, does that mean they will be even more collectable than yours?

Sigh.. why dont people understand?

The 1200 covers the ENTIRE production for these cars. All models, all varients,

I think its actually less than 1200!

Surely you are referring to the specification of yours? Im struggling to believe BMW only made 500 530i's or whatever is it you have....

Anyway.. the thing about the 260 is its ridiculous! It sounds mental, its fairly fast, its a real Q car. I love the fact that the morons think "lol its only a rover" then would hear the v8 Growl as it threatened to eat their face off.

(well, with the supercharger anyway, without might be embarassing)

Put it this way, a Ferarri Testarossa is a mental piece of kit, thats ULTRA collectable and is a classic no? Well they made 7177 of them, so I think my point is kinda valid I must admit..

Im sure everyone disagrees though, but there we go...

I like the MG ZT V8, I really do, but to bring that up as a point is hilarious; this is a rover, not a ferrari!

My friend has one in blue, with the super charger on it, making around 400BHP, for sale. It is the estate one though.

I live damn close to Drednought garage, so the S/C kit is going to be VERY tempting...

Only issue is fuel cost if I decide to take it around Europe. Might well cost £1300 in fuel to get to say Romania and back, or Sweden and back...

Dr Pain (I do not think for a second you are an acutal Dr btw) may be being a bit dumb when it comes to Rover fandom, but don't be so intentionally dumb, it is not an effective arguing technique.

Are you a person who thinks that MG after a certain point is a different brand to Rover?

It is when the chassis, suspension, drive train, engine, braking system, the fact its RWD and not FWD and has been totally reworked then the answer is yes.

If its any other normal car in the ZT range, then the answer is no, its a Rover that's been tweaked.

The 260 is almost a different car altogether. Literally the interior and body panels are the same, and thats pretty much it.

Get lost if you are going to start getting personal.

You for a mod?? Dont make me laugh. Thats got to be the biggest joke in this thread.

Oh noes, are you going to make me STAND AND BANG?

So a Mondeo ST220 isnt a Mondeo? Because it has a different suspension, etc etc?

They did an RWD Rover 75 as well?
