Hey guys.

My mum's Toshiba Satellite has finally gone kaput. I would be grateful if you guys could recommend a good laptop. She only really uses it for internet and youtube videos (and the occasional high quality stream) so it doesn't have to be anything too amazing.

Budget is not too stringent but given the fact it won't be used for anything too heavy i'm assuming it won't cost an arm and leg so i guess anything from 300-600 is acceptable?

Thanks in advance.

HP DV6-6001 is the perfect mums laptop, has plenty of power for home use and looks pretty (not my words I assure you!)

Friends mum recently got one, she loves it for the pattern on the lid :p

She said the screen size doesn't matter too much. As far as the battery goes she only uses the laptop at home so battery life isn't really an issue here.

Okay I'll phrase the screen size question differently. Does she use it as a desktop replacement or does she use it on her knee?

If it's always on a desk = 17 inch
If it's often on her knee = 13 inch
if it's a combo of both = 15 inch

imo of course.
