Looks nice but is the SSD a must? I know everyone is hyped about them but just seems like such a waste of money to me, keeping in mind i know very little about them :D

I have been using one for my main operating and most common used programs and would never go back to a Mechanical drive for the operating system :)

That spec looks very good to me for £1000. Do you need an OS? What resolution are you gaming at?

You could easily get a very capable gaming system by spending less. As for an SSD, if you can fit it into your budget I believe it is a must. I have one of the Crucial M4's in a HTPC and is brilliant! Makes the whole system feel nippy and booting up takes 10 seconds. A lot people say they can live without SSDs (I don't have one in my main rig at the moment) but if you and budget for it then go for it I'd say.

Ok, went with RJCs spec (thanks a lot for that btw) and it should be arriving soon! Does anybody have a link to a step by step for putting it together? This will be the first time i put an entire pc together by hand, only done the really simple stuff like RAM and GPU before.

One thing to do is take your time and read the manual which comes with the motherboard - (I'm guilty of not doing so :() and be careful when inserting the cpu.

Enjoy your system :)
