Mrs Dimple was born in Leeds 52 years ago and wants to go back to see what it looks like for 3 days.
Obviously she's visiting her old house & school but what else is interesting in Leeds?
Is there a museum with loads of flat caps & whippets with blokes saying ee by gum cum reed a buk on t'Yorksheer?

Any suggestions welcome.

If you like Greggs then you'll be in heaven. I don't think there's a position around the high streets in which you can stand and not see one visible.

Corn Exchange is worth a look for the architechture. It's all but devoid of human life now though since 90% of the shops moved out.

The Royal Armouries is pretty cool, as is the Leeds Museum (although sadly you've just missed the Spice Girls exhibit...)

Tropical World is great fun and I'm told now has some kind of mini crocodiles or something in addition to it's usual meercats and butterflys.

Billy Bremners statue at Elland Road, Leeds United FC.

dmpoole story 15,756:

The exact time was when Paul Simon released Me & Julio Down by The Schoolyard.
My Dad worked with a bloke called Fred Wrigley who was a Leeds Scout and he took us up to Leeds where they were playing Liverpool that day.
Before getting to the ground he drove us onto an estate and said he had a surprise.
We knocked on the door and Billy Bremner was standing there and we all sat down for a fish & chip dinner.
When getting to the ground Jack Charlton was outside greeting everybody and Fred asked him to take me in the dressing room to get autographs and I got all the Liverpool autographs as well.
Leeds lost but a day I'll never forget.
And Paul Simon ........? It was a record that Billy Bremner had just bought and played it for us and I bought it when I got back to Stoke.
Sounds BS but every word true

Keep the suggestions coming - Royal Armoury and Industrial Museum look favourite so far.

Leeds is pretty rubbish for stuff to do tbh. The Royal Armouries is good and Kirkstall Abbey is nice for a walk, but it's poor compared to other major cities.

Leeds doesn't rank very highly on the attractions list, it seems to base its pitch around offices and shopping (and the shopping isn't spectacular, although it is good).

Royal Armouries is probably the biggest attraction.

only set aside what.. 15mins for Royal Armouries and the gift shop, oh and feel free to pop into the office block directly opposite and say hi! :D
