Only one 6 pin?

The 6850 has one but people are saying that you could use a molex to 6 pin adaptor to get two coming from your psu if you get a card that needs two.

6850 need only one 6pin PCI-E. But we were just saying you could use a molex to PCI-E cable/adapter (which is provided with most graphic cards) to convert one of your molex cable to a PCI-E 6pin cable, so you will have two PCI-E cable total, and so your graphic card option is not limited to 6850. But you should check if your PSU is good enough to handle those graphic card that require using two PCI-E power.
 
No. but good psu's are like £200 and my parents dont really understand why they cost so much. So I dont really know how to approach it. cus I would like a modular so I can then not have a scraggy mess of short molex at the side that I cant use.
 
Try explaining to your parents that the PSU is probably the most imprtant component in your PC because if a fault develops it can blow up and take the whole PC with it. A good PSU is far far less likely to develope a fault than a no brand cheap one.

A good PSU can be bought from between £80-£100. My current PSU cost me £100 and it's top notch running my heavely overclocked Phenom II and GTX 580.
 
So I could convert my ****e media rig which is a old case damaged HP Xw6200 workstation with 6GB of RAM with only a nvidia 210 and a pants powersupply? to a fancy pants Rig that could be used for both? It has 2 3.2GHz Xeons Nocana's Thanks for telling me about the PSU? although wouldnt a 650W be better?being that It has 2 proccessors?

Don't bother...we didn't know your PC is that old before. A 7 years old (or two) single-core CPU together with old parts would be a bottleneck for the 6850...hell, even your 5770. You realistic option for gaming is either a) game on a PS3/XBox b) find the budget to build a new entry level gaming system around your 5770.

So ,it being top of the range top of the range, when it was around ,doesnt matter? really ,thats a shame. It plays HD Movies fine. I havent seen the CPU% monitor go over 40? While ,having spotify on and mail .
 
Nope,just tried it with Inception, now its only at 14 with Mail ? I would have thought that considering its seemingly fantastic performance capacity I would be able to do what I wish within' reason on it. I just asked my dad to let me use his Steam Desktop drive and I'm about to boot up Black Ops and I can easily with all this other stuff going on. Zombies plays fine at 1400x1140 .
