Shame it's pitch black, we won't be able to see anything other than a few lights hitting the tarmac!

I've been there twice as well, I wish we'd have actually gone to the Kennedy Space Centre, but on the first trip there we did fly over it which was an awesome sight!

It's a fantastic day out. First time was with my dad and brother which was fun. second was with my father in law, wife, her sisters and their mum. The girls couldn't have been less interested which REALLY annoyed me lol.

heh it's always annoying when you go to an event or somewhere of interest to you and you've got people not interested in it ...

The space center is awesome! I love watching the space launches etc but never really read much into the history of it all but even I spent almost 3 days there! there is so much to see and learn, so for anyone going if you like NASA etc its worth getting the yearly pass for $10 extra as you will need it, 1 day is not enough, specially if you want to go to the Astronaut hall of fame too.

This final launch was the first one I went to see and she left on time :D

126 Million Miles flown in total

I know, some of the stats are gobsmacking.

You mean you went 14 or so days ago to see it take off live?

Yep got back last friday!
NASA told us if she didn't fly on Friday it would have been Sunday, and if not then they may have had to postpone it longer if they could not work out a deal with the Delta Launch, I had texts from people still saying the news are showing only 30% launch chance, but for an hour before the launch it was quite bright in the area so we knew she was going to go, and we had sunshine in Titusvile just after the launch :)

Awesome, do you have any vids / photos ? :)

Got a video of the launch, your 12 miles away unless you have NASA viewpoint tickets so with my lenses photos would be pointless, I will get the video on youtube tonight, got plenty of pictures from KSC and the tour though, will post some up when I get round to unloading them off my camera.

Apparently you can hear two sonic booms when its coming coming in, anyone explain why there are two? I asked a photographer out there and he didn't know but said he was seen it many times and always hears two...
