Just taken this from my kitchen window when we just had mini-storm.

New toy for me too! Replaced the Sigma 8-16mm. Appears to be very sharp at all FL wide open, the online reviews of its superb optics holds true!

(even wide open at 10mm gives some dof compared to the Sigma 8-16mm at 8mm)

It is an awesome lens and well worth the money. You would have to beat me within an inch of my life to get my copy off me :)

A brave move with all the rumours flying round about new releases in august...but still, it's all the camera you're ever likely to need. Quite the combo too, though the weight gets a little oppressive after a while.
 
^^ Brave? The D700 wont become a bad camera overnight, when eventually do bring out the 800, and as you say, All the camera i will ever need. :)

Rumours are for two FX bodies, replacing the D700 and the D3..
Means the D700 might come into 5D style 'affordable' pricing perhaps? :D
