This Saturday I'm off to High Voltage festival with a friend for the weekend in London, and another of my friends has agreed to let us stay overnight with him (he lives in Greenwich). The only problem is that the festival closes at 11pm on Saturday, and my friend is unlikely to get back to his house until at least 1am, as he's gigging elsewhere. So I come to you guys for suggestions on how to spend a couple of hours in the Greenwich area late at night, preferably fairly cheaply and fairly safely :o
Any suggestions?

Jump on the tube and go to Kensington :) There were plenty of police walking the streets with automatic machine guns last weekend!

Pub, light night cinem showing, food.

It only two hours, 1 hour in pub, 30mins getting and eating grub and 30mins walking between places.

Maybe read the OP.

Maybe I saw the value in seeking the opinions of more than a single person, as not everyone has the same tastes, and indeed the same knowledge of the area?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone else, a few good places to check up on - I know it's only a couple of hours but being only small I don't wanna end up loitering around the streets late at night. etc.

Go dogging in the park :)

The Moth was always an alright pub when I used to go out in that area. Older crowd if I remember rightly. The tunnel under the Thames is open 24/7 if you want to go for a wander across to Docklands. It's the big dome thing next to the river by the Cutty Sark. Takes about 15 minutes to walk across and there are good river views back to Greenwich and the naval hospital.

Catch a bus the the o2 centre (the dome), that will be jumping till gone midnight, and take your wellies, you'll be knee deep in clunge. :)
