Has a movie ever changed your life?

Star Wars - made me a massive fan of the whole 'universe' of it and so forth

Wargames - as a kid this probably got me into computers in the first place lol.

Not a film in particular but lots.

Me and my gf started lovefilm to stop us going out and spending ££££ every night and since becoming a bit of a film nut a few years back ive started to write my own screenplay. Recently I went back to Uni and after a few projects I'm thinking seriously about doing it as a career.

:D

Nice! I'm in a similar line of work. Just shot a short script of mine, in fact :D

Back on topic: I think Clerks helped me realise being a film-maker is do-able, and that screenplays are fun to read on their own (I read the script before I saw the film).

Got a couple of shorts knocking around myself, actually. Just never found anyone to film it with.

Battle royale.

Forget the hype, the gore, the reason. think about how you, your friends and enemies would really act outside of the comfort of the social norms. it really made me think about people, relationships and the public facade that goes with...

LotR trilogy / Jurassic Park - films that inspired me to get into my current line of work / career.

I'm not really influenced by films as much as I am books, but fight club came close, I'd thoroughly reading the book its based to to anyone who remotely enjoyed the ideology of the film.

Worlds Fastest Indian. Wish everyone had a similar attitude, World would be a much better place. One of the best 'you can achieve your dreams' films as well.

^^ I badly need to watch that film, saw the last half on TV a while back and thought it was awesome.

As for the OP's question, no. A film has never changed my life. Sure some have made me sad/happy/etc., but 5 mins later i'm back to normal (i.e. a grumpy **** :D;)).

That's a shame, since the first half of the movie is what really builds you up. Rent it now! :)

I would have to say the movie that changed my life was Jurassic Park. I can't even look at a Brontosaurus or Stegasaurus, let alone pet them or feed them, in the wild anymore without thinking there's going to be a Raptor or some stupid Dilophosaurus ready to attack me at any moment.

Not changed my life, but i was hugely affected by Devil's Advocate. The scene in the church, makes me shiver even now.

I'd say Sunshine changed my life.

I honestly think its one of the finest and most beautiful films of all time. While it hasn't had a drastic effect on my life it has certainly made my life better!

No, not really.

LoTR is my favourite trilogy and redefined epic for me ( I was 11 when the first came out), and watching The Matrix redefined action for me. But I wouldn't say they changed my life, just changed my standards in films.
