Porsche 997.2 C2S PDK is bloody quick!

I'm not really sure they have taken a battering. I'm resigned to losing the whole lot so it's not something that is going to keep me awake, but I'm pretty sure that my depreciation compared to a 997.1 (so we are on the same curve) is acceptable. Napkin maths make it 32% over 27 months, not sure what the 997.1 looks like but I doubt it's much better.
 
Watch a few vids of 997 Turbo's versus other cars on youtube and you can literally see how damn quick they are off the mark. Apparently with the 997.2 Turbo S PDK model you can consistently it 3.0 seconds dead all day, with magazines timing them at 2.9 seconds. Incredible.

Like i said, i think its possibly more a case of it catching up with its natural depreciation after supply began to outstrip demand, wheras for the first year of its life, it was the other way round.

It is, and it's staggering just how incredibly good the latest generation of twin-clutch boxes are. At everything. And with LC, whilst I understand that there may no clutch involvement, you rarely get a chance to do a full bore launch and I like to make the most of the M6 toll, so might well as exploit the ability to it maximum potential. Plus, it's a great party piece for passengers.

I bought it as an investment piece, so I'm really uncomfortable with figures being bandied about that may have an impact on its future value.
 
Have you covered many miles in it Fett? Would be interesting to hear your views on ownership now that you've had it a while.
 
I was reading the new Fast Bikes magazine yesterday and in the Sportsbike of the Year article they tested the new BMW S1000rr and it did 0-150 in 9.92.

Now *that's* fast!!! (and a brand spanking new one only costs £13,760)

Got my box of tricks working, dunno how long it will stay working for, but I am a very happy person:-

30-70 = 3.4s (3.1s best, slight downhill, 3.8s worse, uphill)
60-100 = 5.4s (4.8s best, slight downhill, 5.9s worse, uphill)

Very happy with said results, quicker than both the CSL and EVO X with 400BHP, though I knew that, but still good to see it verified on the Vbox. :)
 
What is a PDK, and why are they not standard?

Im guessing Porsche. Something. Kit. ? Development?

I like that black RS, however, can you order one without the silly spoiler, and have one more like the yellow one in your sig?

(which im assuming/guessing is yours!)

PDK is Porsches double clutchless manual type box.


The GT3 RS has the huge spoiler, if you want a spoiler like mine then either buy a 911 Carrera S with Aerokit or buy a GT3, just not the RS version.

The GT3 and GT3 RS are very similar, no real performance difference, so just buy the one you preferre looks and drive of. :)
 
GT3 RS has a big of a price premium.

You'll struggle to get a 997 GT3 RS for much under 75k at the moment.

But theres a lovely 997.1 GT3 for sale at 911 Virgin at the minute for 55k.
