GFX card for around £100

Hi All

Currently got a GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB. Looking to get a new card to boost performance and to include HDMI. Only have about £100 to spend

Seen the following two cards which are in my price range. Been a long time so not sure between ATI or Nvidia
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6790 1024MB GDDR5
vs
MSI GeForce GTS 450 Cyclone 1024MB GDDR5

My motherboard is an Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. I assume the above cards will fit

this could be a option but uncertain how it compares to the 6790

for a extra 20ish there are some real bargins about atm

If you can stretch just a bit further I'd highly recommend a 1GB GTX460 such as the 1GB "MSI GTX460 OC" which is just a tiny bit over budget.

I'm also confused. Since the quality appears to shoot up with just a few more squid -along with the huge and confusing choice, what would be the best bang for buck pushing it up to around £140?

I am a little confused. The Sapphire I posted appears to have higher figures than anything so far recommended and its cheaper. Is this where the difference lies between ATI and NVidia, where nvidia can be lower numbers but better spec??

You can't compare clock rates just like that between NVIDIA and AMD cards. Need to have a look at some benchmarks and how they perform in various games.
