*** League of Legends ***

Had one of the most fun games last night but also the most deaths I've ever had.

We won but I don't know how! I was playing Singed here are some reasons I don't know how we won.
Whole team had a negative K/D
Between me and my brother we had died 14 times to Xin Zhao and WW within 15 mins.
I was tanking and would say "I'll tank this turret" ping it, start running there as the turret would start hitting me they would all run away.
The enemy team were all fed, all had epic items compared to us.

That is about it, no clue how we won, was a lot of fun, had a lot of arguing going on with my team, I'd fight 3 people from full HP get them to sub 50% before our Irelia would help...

About 300IP from that game :D Lots of fun but 20 deaths!

Do love it when you turnaround games, even more so when the enemy are gloating :D

Who else is excited about the monkey king champ? I think it may be the first one I unlock on day 1, looks like a lot of fun

The game isn't just about kills though which your game clearly shows. Its something a lot of folk forget about and I have won and lost games due to this. Its one of the things that makes lol such a good team game

Agree, I do get a bit annoyed when people in my vent start moaning about them not getting the kill etc. On the same flip of the coin I use these statistics but I use them to emphesize how the game is going as most people understand kill death. It's a funny old game.

Agree with what you're saying though was playing a game yesterday my team was about 15 kills in front... We lost.

Had another one where after 45 mins a mundo had...
FoN
SFC
.....

Don't think he knew about his cleaver -.-

It's actually difficult to see who's ahead at a glance. One of the most important statistics is total gold earned for your team which you annoyingly can't even see but even that relies on your team's ability to spend it well. If they do derp builds and waste it you could be miles ahead in kills and still lose.

True that. 15-5-8 as Akali and still lost.

although won the next game going 32-14-6 :p

I was just wondering...once you've hit 30 and are well underway with ranked games and the like, is there still a lot of variety in the champions being used? For example, with Maokai appearing in the free to play list, I've been having a go with him and I find his ranged of abilities awesome to play with but is he competitive with other similar choices?

there is always variety but theres definitely less the better you get, and the higher you climb.

its like that in any unbalanced game though, people learn who the 'best' are and learn the most effective ways to play and abuse it. what you do see though, is you see the game progress as people learn how to counter what is effective, so you will see playstyles and champ choices evolve... this is commonly referred to as the metagame.

balance patches also effect the game in this way and they happen fairly frequently.

I also think Maokai is a great character but the pro consensus is that while he is good he is not good enough to be a main tank, and there are other people that do everything he can do but better... Basically they are saying while he is good amumu is better.

Currently enjoying Noctune, going to get Udyr tonight as he is on sale and is all flavour of the monthy (aka about to be nerfed)

14 more champs to go and I'll have them all!

Debating getting MF and Renekton they are the only ones I don't have that I like the sound of.

Got Akali and Orianna yesterday, Akali is a rape machine although I sucked with her and Orianna, I sucked with but she has potential. Roll on next week and the monkey king!

Renekton is just bad. He's only good solo top and theres about 30 other champs I'd rather see soloing top than renekton. He just doesn't bring much to the team.

MF is a good AD carry, really simple to play. Thing to learn with MF is that her ulti isn't for team fights. It's much better for just clearing a lane so you can shop/push.

I recently got Lux and today I have just had my best game ever in LoL.

The start wasn't amazing as me and a couple teammates nearly got ganked while I pulled the golem for our jungle udyr, but luckily their fiddle gave me a couple early kills (thinking his lifedrain could out heal my damage), which then gave me time to gank their lux. Anyway, the mid game was average, with their team working as a group and pushing hard (and doing well) with my team spread out. But when my team got together I could just use E and do a ton of damage and finish off with the ultimate for some kills :D

By the end of the game my soulstealer was fully stacked, I had something like 800+ AP which meant that my ultimate did over 1100 dmg, and most of my other spells were around 800 dmg or so, add that to the fact that after using a spell that AP gets added on to my 100 AD and sudenly my normal attacks do 900 dmg too :D

Such an insanely powerful champ given the right conditions, shes got CC, a great farming/dmg AE, not a bad passive, a shield for team support and an ultimate that can do over 1000 dmg to MULTIPLE enemies at extreme ranges, something that very few ultimates can do.

I wish I got this champ so much sooner, now I just need to fund the IP to replace the runes I've got (only 1 set, which I built with Rammus in mind).

What else did you build on her apart from Lich Bane and Soulstealer?

i hate lux always saves the util for stealing kills...

Her ult has such a low cooldown that she can use it at the beginning of a fight and it will be up in time to catch anyone running away haha.

Dorans ring -> Kages lucky pick -> boots -> soulstealer -> deathcap -> sorc shoes -> sheen -> lich bane -> void staff -> Needlessly large rod.

That was my item path I took, I was trying to go for the hourglass at the end there but the game was won before I could get it.
