Don't worry all the nutters and conspiracy theorists will come out in their droves when we get all the facts.
Still think 21 years is way to lax for something like this...but you have to bear in mind after a tragedy of this scale, when he does get out no ammount of protection program is going to save him from vigilantes and people who want revenge. People will eventually find out who he is and will dish out there own punishment on him if not already done so by other inmates in prison. so maybe extending his sentance would be justified under the "protection" of his own health.

What source are you getting that from.
Is it the same as people in England jumping up and down, but don't understand the system.
Where sentences of such nature have no length and a minimum sentence.
That sounds like a reasonable assumption.

21 is the maximum you can get for the crimes themselves.
Then depending on the crime, you can get something called "forvaring" (don't know the English word, sorry) that means that after 21 years, or however much you got for the crime, the case comes up for review and they can extend the sentence with 5 more years if there is a significant chance that it will happen again or similar.
So after those 5 years they can do it again. There is no way to sentence someone to say 100 years right away. If at that review they come to the conclusion that he is sane and rehabilitated, he can then be released after 21 years.
That's how it works and it's the only way to keep someone in prison over the maximum sentence.
Edit: You can actually get 10 more years in more extreme cases which most definitely he will get.

Good Job, a bit like our system but reverse. You give a maximum sentence with review to extend. We give a minimum sentence with review to release.

Good god, why do people have such over reactions and want to ban and remove everyone's rights. The anti terrorist laws on there own are a disgrace. Let alone banning groups for no reason.
It's not funny, it's terrible that people make these statements and even long after the identity of the shooter was reviled, they still assume he was or might had been involved with Muslim extremists.
I don't remember the last time Muslims were involved in such shootings, maybe with the exception of Beslan but that had a whole other story to it.
I remember, however, the Dunblane and Cumbria shootings, not mentioning countless of school rampages around the world and in the US.
There are also nuts like cheets64 but I think these types are closeted in their own scary environment.
I do recognise how religion can lead to extremism going wrong quickly but we have to remember that blaming for every act of terrorism in the world isn't helping us deal with the root problem, which are extremists. If anything, it only fuels the hate.
Extremists do not go around the world blowing stuff up. When a muslim organisation is involved, you know it doesn't happen for no reason.
