going to get a new lappy from dell outlet

now i do play a few games but not serious fave games are the battle for middle earth series which is about 4 or 5 years old can just about run it on my intel x3100 at low res but would like new lappy to run it pretty decent

anyways ones i have picked out that are dedicated with the dells and within my proce range are the following

been out of the loop on gfx cards since i stopped building comps way back in 2008 so any advice would be brilliant

cards are the following

1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

1 GB nVidia GeForce GT 525M - Dual Core Graphics Card

512MB AMD Radeon HD 6470M

ATI Mobility Radeon HD550v, 64-Bit, 1GB, DDR3 Card

thankyou guys

in short the 6470, 5470, 4570 cards ati cards are no better than the new integrated intel hd solution and all sit low down the table now.

the Nvidia GT525M is here http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-525M.43889.0.html and as you can see the Ati cards in the list to the middle right of the page score way lower

the Ati 550v is a better card than I initially thought compared to the other ati ones http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-550v.31270.0.html but not as good as the Nvidia.

if you are looking on the dell outlet then the best bet will be the XPS L502x for gaming which should have a minimum of the GT525m or the L501x which can come with a GT420/425 graphics or better

I've been looking here as well.

Most of them seem to come with the 540m. Are they any good?

Do they all come with HDMI outs?

Almost all laptops have HDMI, I think the 540m isnt a half bad card, should be able to get most games at around medium settings, and some of the very demanding at lower settings.

ati radeon 6630m is probably the lowest you want to aim for. In this Vostro 3550-i5-2410with 6630 1gig i can play any current game at meduim to high settings. Also it's a directX 11 card which is handy

actually decent gfx in that vostro am gonna look into that a bit more seems it can be had fairly cheap also without the outlet

normally these come in at £500 for a 'ships fast' with an i5 and 6630m but they arn't on offer at the moment, give it a couple of weeks and they will be back on offer.
