Hi guys, this is the card im looking at putting in my new gaming rig for 1920-1080 res. however, ive seen a lot of stuff about v-ram on this site recently and its got me worried, will the 1280mbs this card has be enough?

also any other opinions and views on this card/similar ones are more than welcome :) thanks in advance

I game at 1920 x 1200 with the gtx 580 and not come across any issues with only 1500mb ~ of ram and previous had crossfire and a single ATI 5850 gnu.

Their at 16x16x... However running them at 8x8x wouldnt make much difference at all, if any. 16x Would be important for Dual GPU cards like the 6990 or 590.

Absolutely worth it if you already have a beefy PSU and SLI capable motherboard. Also needed if you fancy maxing out Metro2033 and Crysis. They scale really well in almst all games and benchmarks.

I've just bought the Asus 570 direct cu II triple slot card and it's an absolute monster. The heatsinks on the card keep it so cool that the fans never go over 30% which is completely inaudible! What a card!

unless you have a huge motherboard you wont be able to put them in SLI without massivly restricting the airflow of the upper card. i would definitely recommend the twin frozr III over the directCUII simply because of that

i thought about a triple slot card actually, but ive ruled it out in case i want to SLI in the future, defiantly liking the pro 570 crowd though, sounds like i wont regret the purchase :)

also, for my build im looking at getting a corsair HX 750w PSU, would that be enough if i wanted to add another 570 a few months down the line??

I can completely agree with you on the SLI part because it does take up so much space not to mention it weighs so much that i had to put something underneath it to raise the end of the card up. However heat wise i wouldn't worry about the top card absorbing heat because the heat is dissipated in the case through the sides and some is vented out the back.

The card itself idles at 34C and never passes the 55C mark even when benching. Not to mention the Quietness of the fans which are completely silent.

But like you said you would need a motherboard that is big enough to SLi 2 of these and it does take up more power aswel, requires a 8 pin and a 6 pin to power. Has 2 LED's on the board too which tells you the status of the card.

I game at 1080p with 1GB of vram and have personally never noticed a shortage.
