... Intel SSD 256 minimum

2TB HDD
Decent PSU
Case well ventilated

So these are the requirements that I need to ensure I get the best out of Adobe After Effects and Premiere.

The CPU will need clocking so I'm looking for a mobo that will clock well and have enough slots for 6x4GB of ram...

...and that will support Sandy-bridge and give me stability.

This machine will not be used for gaming!! Purely work, so I require stability and functionality above all... that why I have chosen the Intel SSD over others... if that is incorrect, please advise.

So... if anyone has any input into what will fulfil these requirements, please post...

Thanks guys!

No one said it wasn't doable but it would cost a lot.

8GB sticks seem to have very poor availability and only seem to be 1333MHz.

is SB not designed to run @ 1333MHz anyways?

and 2x4GB sticks are around £50 are they not? so would cost the same in overall price terms.

1600MHz is the sweet spot for price and performance but I suppose that's not really relevant for 8GB sticks due to the cost.

2x4GB sticks can be had for £50.

Good luck in finding a branded 8GB stick for anything like that price.

The OP can settle for 16GB, go triple channel X58 or hunt down some expensive 8GB sticks.

Thanks fella's...

I will probably go for 16GB then... Its a shame that the 1155's don't have more slots, but there you go.

..and Crucial as good as Intel, that's interesting! I have read the Intel SSD's where the best for reliability!.

The OcUK Tyrannosaurus is looking like a good option then, might save me messing about building as I need to start work as soon as possible.

Anyway, thanks again fella's and if there is any more advice, please don't hesitate to post, I will be ordering Monday and I'm not set on anything yet.

i assume the adobe stuff your using cant make use of more than one graphics card (SLI)

i also would have recommended the thermalright silver arrow over the noctua NH-D14 as they perform exactly the same, but the silver arrow is cheaper. however, the silver arrow seems to have disappeared from the shelves of OcUK and its competitors

yeah, there have been some major problems with the hazro monotors. im damned if i can remember what they were, but i remember a big fuss being kicked up about them. im sure someone in the monitors section can tell you what it is if your really interested

i hate to say this, but that motherboard is the biggest rip off ive ever seen (not OcUK's fault, its gigabytes fault). there are precisely no differences between that one and the one that i recommended that was £55 cheaper

also, if you look in the cases section you will see that the quality control department for the fractal XL case is a toddler group. i have seen 5 seperate threads complaining about them, and i hardly ever go in the cases section
