I don't fully understand the unfunded bit, anyone explain?

It's stuff they will have to pay for in the future, but don't have anything to pay for it at the moment. It's the total cost of all the buy-now-pay-later schemes the USA has signed up for, including state pensions, healthcare, etc.

Yes, that unfunded debt is pretty bad seeing as its 10 times their current actual debt, apparently our "real" debt including things like pensions is 2 trillion is it, 1-1.2 is the current debt(I can never remember which is the current number and what the forecast for the year number is, somewhere in there I think) but the newer real number they want to use is around 2 tril and includes pensions, I'm not sure if that new number includes all the same crap that 115trillion number for the USA includes, or just the pensions?

Either way, they are pretty screwed, and we're pretty screwed.
