"Thrustmaster FERRARI F430 Force Feedback Racing Wheel"

Found this for £70, which is my maximum budget. If I cant get a half decent wheel for that price then I don't think i'll bother. Going to use it for NFS shift2 at first, then F1 2010/2011 or any modern realistic driving sim. Does anyone have any experiences with this wheel?

Generally people prefer it more and a lot of great sim racers started with this wheel. I also own the wheel and I find it amazing.

Fair enough, i'll have a look into it. Have to admit that I'd probably prefer the 270 deg steering. Opposite lock on a 900deg wheel is a lot more effort. The driving force gt works on pc I presume? Hmm, stick over paddles is appealing.

You can change the amount of rotation and the driving force has both stick and paddles.

Driving force GT is great. Works on PC and console. Thrustmaster looks really nice it has to be said, but possibly won't be as solid or reliable. Also, on my DFGT, although it has a ton of buttons, I only use what's under my thumb as there's no time to reach for other buttons during time trials, so the D pad on the left gives me 4 selections, and the playstation type buttons on the right give me 4 selections, so all my important Shift2 and F1 2010 buttons are immediately accessible. By comparison, the F430 appears to have 2 buttons on the left and 2 on the right, so if you need just buttons under your thumbs, it looks like it has less to use. Also, I love the clamping on the DFGT. I was expecting the wheel to move but it doesn't at all, not after hours and days of hard playing, it locks down brilliantly.

Also, read this thread for more opinions http://community.codemasters.com/fo...30-force-feedback-wheel-vs-logitech-dfgt.html

DFGT is really nice :) I just did a quick look around and you can pick one up for around £75-85 so not too far out of your budget, and I'd say it is definitely worth the extra :)

Also had no compatibility issues with games what so ever - immediately recognised and works :)

Right, mainly on account of the reliability issues with the 430, i think i will go with the DFGT unless i can get a logitech monza for nothinv on an auction site. According to one of the links someone posted its still a good wheel.

Just because the wheel is 900 degress rotation you don't have to use it. As others said it can be adjusted. Some sims make allowance for this automatically (iRacing) others you have to setup yourself. I've aways found 270 way to lacking but a good starting point is 360 - 420 degrees. If you have problems with a certain games settings hit some forums and more often than not you will find someones elses settings that you like.

Just ordered the Logitech Driving Force GT. If you don't mind buying off the 'Bay, they can be found new for under £75 :)

Edit: If you keep an eye on MM, a few used ones have been going for between £50-60.
