Hey all :D

I've heard some people say some pretty stupid stuff in the past. Stuff that makes you question the future of humanity, or lose the will to live.

I was just wondering what else you've heard that makes you experience the same thing...

Here is one that I heard last weekend that rendered me speechless...

I have a friend who recently went on holiday with his girlfriend of about two years. And I was at a pub with them both and my friend went on to tell me that as the plane took off, she lent over to him and asked "Why are the wings not flapping?". She was totally 100% serious.

I did something yesterday which probably puts me on par, or close enough, to the girl you mentioned although it was something I did and not said.

I opened up the front door of my friends car and started searching around for the lever thing that reclines the chair forward so you can get in the back only to have it pointed out to me that he has a 5 door car :o.

I've heard stupid stuff before, and I just think "how have you managed to survive to this point in your life"?

I know a teacher who teaches cooking. She used to be a chef in London.

She 100% believes that tin foil is shiny on one side and matte on the other for cooking purposes. Reflection and refraction of heat.

She teaches this to her children. :(

I've done this. :D You're not alone.

I'm going to have to to act dumb here and ask "is it not?". I've read recipies that say to use one side or the other depending on requires results and assume the matte and shiny sides will change the amount of heat reflected...

Anyway I've said some classics in the past and also heard some. I think there is a difference between odd observations and comments like the woman screaming at a banker though. :D

I remember as a kid asking what nowt was as the Allinson Bread advert said "with nowt taken out".

And on the subject of flying, my first flight was in the dark, and we landed during sunrise, looking out the window I noticed a huge hole in the side of engine, I started pointing out that a bit had fallen off the engine, only to be told it was the panel opening for reverse braking thrust.

:o

I did this last year when we had some friends over for my birthday. I guess I'm a moron.

A woman clearly on benefits started shouting in tesco about how the bankers are starving her babies.

A girl from Norway asked was Jesus born before or after Christ

I'm starting to see a trend here.

Oh.. I thought you're supposed to use the shiny side as it'll reflect the heat and cook things better? Or so I heard from some TV cooking programme :o

It's shiney on the side that was pressed on the rollers, matt on the side that was pressed on another sheet of foil due to the fact that the thickness is half of the minimum roller gap so they roll two sheets at once, saw it on 'how it's made' the other day lol.

I used to see a girl who though that beaches were man made. All beaches. She seriously though that at some point in time, men with trucks had taken sand and dumped it on the shores to form all the worlds beaches.

Lucky her epic rack was epic.

"Happy Birthday" "thanks, you too"
I usually do stuff like this too :) things like saying to my colleagues at the end of a call "see you on Monday" even though they're in the US and we'll just have another call.
