i had a warning about v-core after i changed the bclk to 4.0mhz, what causes it and is my computer safe ?

runnign i5 2500k @3.30mhz (stock) and p8z68-v motherboard
Im new to over clocking and since the auto tune isnt working (hangs on starting windows" im trying to do it manually .

im using a 600 wat psu ( Artic cooler)
and have a corsair h60 water cooling on cpu

what should i set my

Bclk to ? its currently on 100.3

the cpu ratio is this the multiplier? if so should i set it to 40 which makes 4012mhz or leave it on stock?

also the cpu voltage which is on 1.165 should i change this lower or higher?

any help would be so much apreciated im absolutely clueless

i did change Blck to 100.0 and then i changed the voltage to 1.200 and the multiplier to 40, do you think this will be good?

im worried about the voltage was it too much too little?

Voltage should be fine up to 1.325-1.35V, OCers test their guaranteed bundles up to 1.4V Vcore but some users find this too high for 24/7 usage.

Those setting should be fine to boot the computer, run Prime95 or IntelBurn Test to make sure its stable. If it is stable, try reducing the voltage a little, if not then try increasing the voltage a little. Repeat until you get the system stable with the lowest voltage.

EDIT* Make sure you have temperature monitoring software open when testing if it's stable to make sure it's not running too hot, SpeedFan / Real Temp / Core Temp are all good software from my experience.

If your on the Asus boards all you gotta do is just up the multi and that's it. Leave everything on auto.

Your not gonna get the most incredible overclock (you won't with these boards, their too fiddly) but it will be like 1.32-1.34v

Mine is set at bclk= 100, multi = 44, cpu voltage manual @ 1.31, dram voltage 1.5 all other settings at default, except the internal pll overvoltage which should be disabled to avoid sleep issues. :)

Looks all right.

Leave the Bclk to default (100mhz).
Up the multiplier until stable.
Anything under 1.3V on Vcore is groovy.

So that looks all right. You should be able to hit 4.2-4.4GHz around 1.3V Vcore.

damn just made another post but you have answered it for me here , thanks mate !
