My cat was fed last night but then scooted. He ain't been back all night or today. I need to go out now and will be back at 6:15. Would he be ok till then or shall I atleast leave some cat biscuits out? I don't Want to leave mushy stuff out as it attracts flies and gets horrid in the heat.

As you can tell I usually leave cat sitting to someone else as they can be a pain

Yeah he should be fine, you'll probably find him asleep at the back door when you get back.

If you want stick some biscuits out for him but he won't starve in the next few hours; it might be worth putting his water bowl outside though as it's warmer today.

Yeah most likely he'll be fine.

Leave some biscuits out and he'll be good to go. More then likely he has been fed by someone else or he's found some other cats bowl outside and scoffed that.

Leave some water, obviously in the shade. He'll probably just sleep for most of the day if its nice and sunny.

Cats often go walkabout on hot days and get lost. We were fostering a cat who disappeared for 11 days.

A good trick to help them find home is to get some of their used litter and sprinkle it around the garden so that they can find their way back by scent.

Oh - and set your catflap to one-way...

Well granted he will probably eat something else. Like he did yesterday. Munched on some grass and decided to throw it up when he came home. He has nibbles this time though. I dont have a cat flap

He may have ventured into someone's shed while they were gardening, and got locked in. :(

Happened to my cat once. The neighbour consciously locked him in their shed and left him in there with all the poisonous chemicals. When we found him he was almost dead. Lucky the vet managed to save him. He stays out all night all the time though so I wouldn't start worrying till he's been gone for a whole day.
