I've just bought this card. There is a review here I found:http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/inno3d_gtx560_ti_1gb_review,9.html

According to this review, the card should be running at overclock speed 950/1075

I used the same GPU-Z utility and I have got only 880/1025 which are are only slightly higher than the non-overclocked version.

Is there a way for me to overclocked to the speed same as in the review?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

Then it is not much a performance booster to my original PowerColor 4870 1GB DDR5

But why is that so?

Supposed this card is a higher generation than the 4800 series isn't it?

I just ran Strike Fighter which is a flight sim and the FPS is even lower than what I got from 4870???

Would that because I am running Vista 64 and not Win 7 64?

I also ran Rise of Flight, the frame rates are in the neighbourhood of 35 to 40 which is not much different from 4870!!!!!!

I AM very DISAPPOINTED!!

A GTX 560Ti is much faster than a HD 4870.

See this page onwards in the Guru3D review.

Did you properly uninstall the ATI drivers before installing the Nvidia drivers?

You could also try overclocking your processor in case it's bottlenecking the GPU.

Surveyor,
I have reinstalled the Windows. The only difference is I have reinstalled 64 bits Vista instead of 32 bits which is what it was before.

But it is good to have someone to confirm with me that this card should be faster than 4870.

I think I should use some time to install Crysis Warhead to see how it goes.
I ran the game with max settings and I got 38FPS in-game moving to GTX 560 Ti.

Folks,

I have other questions:

This GTX 560 Ti OC is built for DirectX 11 games. Does it mean that I have to upgrade my OS from Vista to Windows 7 to obtain the advantages?

Something which I can't make out: the game called "Strike Fighters" is supported by DirectX 9c. If I don't choose to install DX9 during the installation, the game doesn't run at the end. And I am using Vista which has DirectX 10 as native DX libraries. I don't find any DX9 DLL in C:\Windows\System32 folder anyway. So does that mean this DX9 game will run slows no matter which card I use, even say I put in a GTX 570, it won't change the performance or FPS that much?

Could you suggest me your thoughts , many thanks in advance for your help!!
Peter

You can have DirectX 9 installed alongside 10 & 11 so I suggest you install it.

You can install DirectX 11 on Vista. See here.

Well, the whole issue is really the quick decision made to purchase the new GTX 560 Ti card. I still have the impression that the 4870 is in par with this new board but just half an hour ago, I happened to read this chart:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/330?vs=304

Looks like that the GTX 560 Ti is really way ahead of the 4870 according to this chart, or else, my money would have been wasted.

But in order to see the true performance of the card, I still need to consider swapping out my CPU for a high end version.
