Looking at the above as i need something a bit bigger than the Pooma - Amy is 11 now and just fits in the back, a friend of hers had head on the roof lining the other day so its days are numbered :(

I have had a look around and the only 'major' issue i can see is the VAG ABS issue but i hear there is a £200 fix now as apposed the original £1500 job.

Things like tax, insurance and MPG have been checked and nothing there that bothers me - cheaper to insure than the pooma :o, tax few quid more and MPG about the same! Aware of running costs with servicing, tyres and 4 year/60k cam belt schedule.

But is there anything else i should be aware of, going to have a look at some this week i hope so armed with knowledge has to be best way! Any help or tips to look for appreciated!

edit: Petrol obv!

Pop along to briskoda.net and you should be able to find out anything and everything.
The ABS issue unfortunately seems to be a when rather than an if - it's common fault on VW, Seat and Skoda.
There is indeed a fix kit available now for £155 which you can either fit yourself, or allow a total of around £200 to allow the dealership to do it.

Closer the vehicle is to 60k miles the more "haggling" you should do on the Cambelt.
The cambelt/waterpump service will not be cheap, so either try and get around a £1 knock-down (if it's due very soon) or ask if they will do it before you purchase.
