just managed to switch it off from the web site, is this new?, thought you had to call up..

You have to call them to cancel it (something I need to do) AFAIK there's always been a way of joining/renewing online
 
So you can cancel your subscription/cancel the auto renewal online? Just been on there and it's still asking me to ring them to cancel. You got a link to cancel it online?
 
Ah okay so here's how you do it;

On the account page, click Upgrade/Manage Account
Under your avatar where it says Automatic Renewal: On, the On should be a link, click it.
You are going to have to click next quite a few times but eventually it will give you the option to turn auto renewal off.

Finally. Turned mine off. Was getting rather annoying, they somehow managed to renew my xbox live last year using one of my expired credit cards, even though I had already renewed it :(
 
So can you subscribe for X amount of months using the £1 deal then instantly turn off auto renewal or do you have to wait for the subscription to run out?
 
Wow, only took them like 5 years :p

This really annoyed me when i had to cancel my live account way back when.
