hi all,

quick question - had an accident in the work van on company insurance. Basically ambulance on our side of the road approaching blind bend lady infront stopped i didnt :(.

On the insurance form they are asking for my personal policy details, Do they need them? first accident and am a bit confused as to why they need this information - Boss is on holiday too :(

they asking for contact details or more personal details than that ?

they will ask for you details to be able to contact you, if its more work related questions, they ask them to make sure the T&C of the work insurance is covering you

asking if the driver has personal insurance and if so the policy number.

theres a system in place called CUE, Claims Underwritting Exchange, which is where all the infomation is stored for claims, with company policies its different as one company might have say 3 people covered by one policy or other companies might have just one sole driver, so claims on company policies dont always get picked up, however for your private insurance policy to be valid, you need to advise your insurance company by the renewal date that you been involved in an incident.

With the question asking for your private insurance i would ring them up and ask if there is a reason for it
