So a couple of weeks ago Lloyds sent out two credit cards and they apparently went missing before making it to me.
I'd called them up, cancelled the cards and had two more sent out which arrived and were activated.
Cue a phone call today from "Sue at Lloyds" from an unknown/blocked number, asking me to activate my credit cards. I tell her they already have been and she sounded a little put off by the news before ending the call "Thank you Sir".
Curiosity gets the better of me and I call Lloyds up and ask them if they've recently called me. They haven't called me for months and they also confirm that I'd never be called from a blocked number.
So somewhere along the line, someone has found/nicked the original cards and is trying to get me to activate them so they can be used. I'd love to know how they got my phone number as it isn't included in the information sent out with the cards.
Ho well, I guess this must happen often enough, the real Lloyds lady didn't sound surprised.
